The triumphal Arch

Designed by the architect François d'Orbay, a pupil of Mansart, this Arc de Triomphe was built on the site of one of the gates of the city's old ramparts.

Of particularnote are the medallions, the low relief and the attica (summit) tinted in ochre and yellow, plus the royal crest which has been restored to its former French royal blue colour.
